Edward M. Jenkins served as Worshipful Master of Perry Lodge No. 185 for the year 1938. He was appointed as District Deputy Grand Master of the 24th Masonic District of Ohio for three years from 1943 - 1945. He was known to most as Brother Ed.
On October 14, 1947, Right Worshipful Brother Jenkins was appointed Grand Tyler for the Grand Lodge of Ohio. On March 3, 1948, Perry Lodge No. 185 hosted a celebration in honor of R.W.B. Jenkins, which was attended by hundreds of friends and brother Masons.
Brother Jenkins was known to work tirelessly for the Lodge and Masonry in general. Whether it be attending inspections and installations to serving as the Installing Officer, he dedicated much of his time and efforts to Masonry. In 1950, her served as the chairman of the 100th Anniversary Celebration for Perry Lodge.
In 1955, R.W.B Jenkins was honored with the 33rd Degree at the Valley of Toledo Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite.
A trust fund was created called the Jenkins Trust for the Salem Chapter No. 334 Order of the Eastern Star which was intended to help cover the costs of the Chapter as well as go towards charities. In 2021, Salem Chapter No. 334 O.E.S. closed and the remaining amount of the Jenkins Trust was divided amongst the remaining bodies in the Salem Masonic Temple to be given to the chosen charities or organizations.
